GreigM
It is very simple, and to some extent doesn't need to be anything more. Its obviously a "home made" site, but nothing wrong with that. Couple of minor things: 1. The blue writing on the yellow background - can you drop the light-blue shadow effect, it strains the eyes, it would look simpler and more classy without. 2. All your page titles are "Untitled Document" 3. How about a "Contact" page - remember users are muppets and won't notice the phone number in big writing up top....believe me, they'll miss it!! Also an email address? I know you've got time to answer it with all the time you spend on here 4. Location page - link to a wee google map or similar showing where you are? Yes, you could do a lot more, use a professional template, put wordpress in for some dynamic content (photos of current/past interesting jobs) but not necessary.... dombanks
the site is simple and easy to navigate. you seem to have all of the right info on there to say what you do and its most certainly not cluttered. the only comment i have is it feels/looks a little too simple... a bit GCSE IT if you see what i mean. kind of like the difference between a really well put together Westy and one thats been thrown together (but equal in its safety etc). i dont think it quite does you credit enough (at the mo) when i know how good some of the pics youve posted here of your work are. it seemed a little slow to load too but that could be this internet connection im on at the mo. deffo on the right track tho. SteveD
bev is still working on it now and is in the process of adding contacts page .gallery page and location
Young Pretender
Looks like a good start but I'd be tempted to use some of the empty space a little better where possible. For example the company name and details can fill the yellow section a little more, maybe even incorporate the company logos of lotus, caterham, westfield, tvr etc. I would probably agree with the comment on the light blue shadow too. Possibly also change the white background where the body of the text is because it's too simple. Maybe with some kind of watermarked pictures of cars etc.. Will you be advertising affiliated businesses on there?
KugaWestie
The services page and engine conversions page are exactly the same content...
XTR2Turbo
Steve Initial comments I think that the services page repeats what is on the other two tabs. Might be better to have a tab covering track day prep etc on its own and drop the services tab. Always good to add lot's of images of the jobs you have done. Home page says: We specialize in all makes of cars including prestigious and performance cars, which are our speciality. Do you mean we repair .? This leads to my main question from the site - are you interested in repairing a bumber / repair to a run of the mill motor or just repairing higher end and grp stuff? Personally I think Ok to say in business for 40 years etc but I would also be more interested in the skills and capabilities you have e.g. jigs, spray booths etc. David
SteveD
its still in the early stages ,we will be adding to it over the next week and changing things ,i didnt expect it to be perfect straight away i just wanted it up and running to start with ,we will have a links page to people we deal with and who deal with us ie blink motorsport etc etc
XTR2Turbo
Also I would align on a colour scheme and stick to it. Why not mirrow the colours used on the sign on the unit in the home page pic. They seem the complete reverse of the colours on the website.
kirkyboy5
services page is same as a engine replacment, not sure if thats meant to be like that! Looks good though!
