Delboy Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Micks, like mine was made by an ex Williams chap in Wales! Mine has cracked every where! Del Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Didn't Micks S2000 engined Westy use a Tony Law exhaust Sure i've got a couple of photos of it somewhere No, it had it made by the same bloke as mine in Lampeter mid Wales. Mick actually gave me the contact but I went befoe he did. A small one man band by the name of Harvey Robinson. He only works in mild steel though. Mines been OK for 4 years. Del Hodder had him make his for his supercharged Honda but doesnt rate it though. I wasnt aware Micks had cracked but I'm pretty sure Micks was a Tony Law and he got this guy to modify it to find some extra horses Quote

Not the prettiest but very effective for the price. The main problem with Honda engines is that you have to treat them the same as YB Fords, even down to the ignition systems. The exhaust manifold flange adjacent to the head should be reinforced with an extra tab on top of the pipes. Quote
perksy Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Found them Credit to Mick for the photos Hope its ok to post them Mick Quote
Speed Freak Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 how when making an exhaust do you know what length branches you can use to make decent power? the standard s2000 exhaust manifold has often been said to me to be the best power producer out there-however the 4 branch part of it is only a foot long at best- mic yours looks to be double/triple that..? how come you can alter them sooo much and know whats going to happen afterwards?(clearly mic yours works a treat, just wondered why) ahh edit that-mics old exhaust was longer Quote
mhc Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Thanks Perksy. That was a Tony Law exhaust. The lengths and diameters of the pipes were wrong. Engine was down 18 bhp against the later exhaust! Quote
perksy Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 how when making an exhaust do you know what length branches you can use to make decent power? There's quite abit of info on this subject (inc calculators) on the interweb Just get a beer and a comfy chair and give it google.. Mick I've kept a few of your build photos Quote
Torqueman Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 torqueman is this your car? i like the exhaust tbh-was the manifold made somewhere different to the can/cat? Sorry to say thats not mine. The guy that has this car has actually a new manifold, 4-1 I think. I will check that. The damper is made by Ferrita. And there is no turbo in there Quote
Torqueman Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 This is his new manifold On the car He gained on the new manifold Figures are wheel/Torque power Quote
Speed Freak Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 is that 200 wheel horse now??if so those figures look a bit low dont they? on tb's and what looks like a quaife box or similar... that must be what 235/240ish flywheel? thats standard power figures. surely that should produce roughly the same as mics car shouldnt it mic? if so mic what power did yours run at wheel? think u said 258 at fly Quote

And some jenwey throttle bodies are going on, also the head is getting ported. Remember that different dynos will give different results! Quote

Always wondered that, thought someone was a bit crap with the welding so bunged it on as an after thought! Quote
Speed Freak Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Cant you have the cat before the muffler like this? just been looking at this pic again... I can see the two wires for oxygen sensor behind pipe, but not sure exactly where theyre plugged in. guessing first one will be just before flexi joint, but the second Im not sure, will it be just before the can (as it must be tight?)or after near tail pipe?
