adamnreeves
Only on low boost due to noise... and was having to lift in places for the moniters... but still making good progress! Awesome car. love my Westy! Thanks to Polly x (stu) for building it! Love the closing speed to other cars... Looks like the diff that my mate Twinny built is holding up then? We were chatting a few weeks aho whilst he was setting the diff up at a mate's workshop, He said it was for a guy called Lee with a turbo'ed Cossie Westie.... Small world innit? Call me a bore but some of closing speeds seemed dangerous to me. One of the drivers was so taken by it that he didn't know where to go, in the end he pulled off the track to let him pass. As far over taking on the right, no excuse, rules are there for everyone's safety, friends included.

Porkie
I know its very fast. Thats why it sat unused in the pits from 9am-3pm ONLY once the track was pretty empty I took it out for a blast. I apologise for the overtake on the right. Wasnt planned... just kinda drifted past him that way. He was out in the car with me the previous few laps. But you are right no excuses. I didnt try and intimidate anyone on purpose (and cant see who pulled off track?) Look how slowly I went into section past the Atom for example. I lifted and braked so early rather than steaming in. I was always looking out for other drivers and none of the drivers or marshalls at Bedford had a problem with anything apart from my wayward rear end! JeffC
thats the danger and big downside of having a car faster in a straighline than other traffic on circuit you catch them sooooooooooooooooo fast , watch the last 40 seconds of my 300bhp Caterham vid , it was close and my nipped for a split second
Porkie
Lee, you're driving it just like you do in the Clio only a tad faster . and don't those Atoms and Porsche's get in the way Is it quicker around Bedford than those single seaters that you have driven? The Corner speeds on the Jaguar Palmer Single seaters are much higher as they have genuine downforce and big slick tyres... I have road tyres and no downforce.... weirdly... laptimes are VERY similar! Westy is about a second faster a lap. Not much in it at all! Very different to drive. Both AMAZING. Westy more brutal and fun. Single seater more precise and pure.

Terry Everall
I have a had a very few powerful Westfields and done trackdays as well as sprinting but if my car handled like that I would not drive it like that with others on the track Power is ok but you need to respect it and use right foot accordingly IMHO

Johnson
Looks like a load of fun. Reminds me of when Dingy took me out in his Mark 2 Escort with a Cossie lump in it round Donington I was giggling like a schoolgirl I was so scared. Great stuff

nikpro
Trackdays are there for fun - nobody is ever going to talent spot you or give you an award for the fastest lap. I think the OP has been 'flamed' for his mistakes and has apologised for them in a dignified manner. This is the problem with having a car that's so quick - which it certainly is; it becomes unusable on trackdays because other 'billys' don't realise how quickly you are closing on them. Regarding the cars handling - difficult to tell, the engine is just so dominant in that vehicle. Now't wrong with spending a track day going sideways though - it's there to have fun - I've spent lap after lap in a Caterham passenger seat with it never pointing in a straight line 'gooning' all the way round - very slow way round the track but lots of fun. Monster straight line performance in that car.
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison
I dont get th"looks a load of fun" comments. It looks dammed dangerous to me. Stop spending money on engine mods and invest in the handling. However much the power they can be made to handle properly
