Still here. Been busy. Special report to follow after the main headlines.

Has the Boardroom changed? No. The people have. There is no real way to be diplomatic in the way LippyD is on this subject (great example though L), so I'll call it like I see it... I tend to agree that folks who can't handle the responses virtually probably can't handle them in real life to some extent, BUT the lack of face to face expression doesn't help. The written word can be hard to decipher if your grasp of understanding written remarks is poor.

I also tend to agree that perhaps the PC brigade has pervaded in to the work/life place enough that (dare I say it) the "younger generation" don't really understand what to do when presented with "colourful prose". So they reach for their indignation and look for blame and a band of happy sympathisers to soothe their dented outlook on this fluffy cuddly world they live in.

I say if you're gonna be in what is ostensibly a male oriented place where men play with big boys toys, then you need to drop a set and man up. The humour IS robust. But mostly it is not deliberately offensive. I have been on both ends of the banter many times, but I still have the utmost respect for the vast majority of my friends, both real and virtual.

There is NOTHING wrong with honest disagreement between adults.

Sadly, too many people seem to forget (usually temporarilly) that they are supposed to be adults and have a bit of a strop. But because we're adult males, we tend to join in with the ribaldry when we see petulance. LONG MAY IT CONTINUE

At the end of the day we're a bunch of blokes helping where we can and enjoying the company of other like-minded blokes, doing blokey things and making blokey noises. If that's too much, then leave.

OK, pot stirred. Back later... possibly *much* later. But I couldn't let this one pass without comment... :0

Now, where can I find XI 129? He needs some help with some uprights, or so I hear... Apparently a degree in Photography and owning technical companies qualifies one as an engineer in the automotive and aerospace industries. I need to update my CV...

I have several technical qualifications and own a camera, so clearly I could be a photographer for any fashion magazine I like...  :devil::devil:

Rumbled...

OK, Gentlemans "special interest" magazines then. They're less... picky :0:devil:

I find the oposite. At 31 I consider myself to be the younger generation and find internet forums in general are becoming more family friendly, mods take a greater part in deleting threads, swear filters are becoming more common and inappropriate images taken down ... Not that this is the forum for it, we still have a laugh.

I'm a member of a couple of 'anything goes' forums where people can talk and swear as they would in the pub face to face and they don't have these troubles of people feeling victimised and being hounded off a forum by petty bickering.

Worst I've come across has to be Pistonheads for the undercurrent of snide one-upmanship but it is prevalent acorss every car forum I've been on and for some reason it only happens on family friendly forums and not on the free speech ones.

Good question!

Plenty going on, mostly good. Details to follow, but here's a clue... I probably won't need that Mondeo manual you have put to one side. I'd get it on eBay if I were you ;)
