Has the boardroom changed?

Recommended Posts

IMO over the past year or so this boardroom has become not as friendly as it once was.

I don't visit as often as I did and every time I do I read a thread that further demonstrates why I should continue not to bother.

I thought boardrooms were about discussion, but this doesn’t seem to be the case on here anymore, it seems to be about who has the loudest voice or who is willing to start mudslinging and/or character assassination, discussions shouldn't stop when someone has 'proven' a point, decisions should be on weight of evidence rather than one 'experts' opinion. Not everyone gets it right 100% of the time.

Do threads need to degrade into mudslinging or character assassinations?  I suppose it depends on how you get your kicks  :bangshead:

Keep it up, it keeps me away

I used to enjoy my daily dose of the WSCC Boardroom, even if I didn’t/don’t contribute that often, (we all can’t be ‘experts’), but I don’t enjoy visiting anymore.  However I felt I needed to get this off my chest

i dont think it has become any less freindly at all tbh

i suggest you read the electric supercharger thread ,its a perfect example of two things ,

no 1

is when everyone offers the same advice yet the topic starter decides to ignore the advice that everyone has given them ,even though it is the correct advice they choose not to listen

no 2 is when some constantly offers bulls*** advice time and time again  that may cost someone  lots of money or cause injury and nothing is done about it

this is when problems arrise ,but this is probably one of the best if not the best car forum on the interweb ,and its policed very well by the mods ,some of us need kicking into touch now and then ,but there are far worse places on the interweb

and i suppose its up to you weather you decide to come on here ,you cant please everyone all of the time at the end of the day ,but you can allways stop reading the threads if you dont like them ,thats down to you :)

We're still missing your presence at the meetings Chris.

Keep us up to date on how your rebuilds going. I was in your neck of the woods yesterday and was going to call you to see how things had moved along but ran out of time.

Ps. I know that I'm a little off topic but hey ho :D

agree with you totally Stussy - used to be loads of like minded people who used to have a nice bit of pleasant banter - been way to many good people hounded off these pages

such a shame too  :bangshead:

I think the boardroom & it`s management have changed a bit over the last year or so but this is because people do come & go for a variety of different reasons .  ???

If some peoples posts are pushing other peoples over sensitivity button then there`s always the ignore option you can use .  :t-up:

dont think anyone has been hounded off clegster

some people just move on ,some just stop using the forums others just like to use some things as an excuse to have a girly fit and cause a scene for a reaction

people will allways come and go on forums ,thats life but i seriously dont think anyone has been hounded off here , some have had girly fits and not logged on for a week or so ,but they allways come back ,can you name anyone thats been hounded off  ???  :)

Change is a natural thing; people buy and sell cars, some go, new people arrive.

What I do think we have seen an effect of recently though, are some of the more "frequent posters", in a light hearted/chatty/general banter sort of fashion, as well as more technical types, either move on, or have less time to, er, waste, on here.

Hopefully, others will move forward to fill the void. The Boardroom is what we make it.

One of the best parts of the Boardroom compared to other forums has always been the mix of social and technical posts.

I hope both will continue.

I read three or four car forums and this is the best compromise between testosterone fuelled aggression and nerdy based nit-picking. People do come and go (where's Blatters?) but on the whole, over the eight years or more that I have been hanging around here this is the one I visit first and most )I do have a Westfield of course!). Good manners are a rarity everywhere sadly, and forums are no exception. Live and let live...

I agree totally this why I don't really bother posting anymore.

I pop in from time to time and have a look around but it has dramatically changed and I don't see the point in posting on threads there's too much mud thrown!!!

But there is life after the WSCC :t-up:
