FILFAN Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 first online quote with Frank Pickles - £161.43 im with them and it cost me £147 with 2 named drivers Quote
pistonbroke Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Quoting insurance prices alone can be very misleading unless you quote the full package Some of the other items that influence cost ...... Driver age Excess payable (in event of making a claim ) Comprehensive or TPF&T Engine CC , Bike or Car ? Breakdown recovery included ? Who the underwriters are ? (some are better than others when it comes to paying up ) I'm sure there are others Quote
Dibby Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 TBH I just want the cheapest, been driving for 14 years and not had a single bump. Surprised at the bike engine prices. Used to have a Robin Hood with a 2L EFI from a Sierra, changed it when we bought the Westie and it was 1/2 the price to insure, we checked if they got it right, a Megablade is a lot quicker than an EFI Robin Hood, they said it's all on engine capacity and it's under 1-litre! Not going to argue too hard against an insurance refund! Quote

Insurers are there for one reason only - to make your problems go away if and when they arrive and return your life to the way it was before. If they don't do that, they're not worth your hard-earned money. The satisfaction of patting yourself on the back for saving £20 is a very distant memory when you can't get what you're entitled to later. Quote
Dibby Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Nah, they're only there for one reason, to make themselves money by trying to wriggle out of paying a claim whether someone is clearly at fault or not. Bunch of crooks the lot of them. Never having made a claim on the house or car insurance, they've made an absolute fortune out of me and the premiums keep going up to cover other peoples' payouts. If I had my way I'd insure myself and take the risk. Another important factor is where you live, moved to a nicer area and both our everyday cars have gone up, £50 each! Quote
