Captain Colonial Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Cleggy, just reminding you I'm with KGM through Frank Pickles, and about my bump in April. They say you don't know how good an insurance company is until you need them. One phone call sorted the lot (total repair both parties cost £6k) - everything. And even when Equity Red Star (the other party's insurer) proved time and time again just how incompetent they are (let me repeat that - Equity Red Star are absolutely unprofessional, useless Thomas Tankers) and tried to bypass KGM and bully me for more money, KGM stepped in and sorted the lot. My insurance premium did go up after the bump, mind you... by £3 a year. Quote
Bob Green Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I cannot see why over £180 per year should be paid. Adrian Flux charged me £155 for the Cosworth, fully comprehensive covering 3,000 miles. Quote
markcoopers Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I'm with adrian flux and down to £110 ish @ 3000 miles a year. Quote
jeff oakley Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 There are so many variables in insurance, I am 53 with footman james pay £180 with agreed value of £12k 3000miles. Quote
dombanks Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 location? adrian flux for me last year was well over 300. frank pickles was much less but i cant remember how much..... <200 for sure by a decent amount. Ask them about parts only insurance it brings it down even more. Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 no need for me to shop any further - think 160 quid is pretty good and as Captain has had to use them with good results they will go for me thanks chaps Quote
Mooch Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I have just paid £96 a year for my Mazda 1.6 SDV with A-Plan in Thatcham. 2k miles limit. (thanks to Jon of Cotswold WSCC Group who told me about them). Really nice people. Reflects lower horespower and the fact that I'm an old git recently eligible for SAGA holidays, but I thought this price was outstanding. Quote
