echoz Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 there all as bad as each other This Reported my card stolen after trying 3 different numbers, was told new one would be with me in 5-10 working days, 2 months later still no card. Going to the bank on Saturday to enquire as to why since turning to santander, they seemed to have lost the skills of doing their jobs properly. Also with natwest and not really had a problem with them yet Quote

Well, they have no idea where bl**dy Warwickshire is, so God knows where they think you live! Quote
Stuart Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Another big vote here for First Direct. Been with them since they started. Had a couple of slight niggles over the years but always sorted easily. Think you have to either pay in so much (£1500?) per month to the current account or have another product with them to avoid current account charges though. Quote
s2rrr Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Another vote for First Direct, been with them for about 20 years since they started. Bearing in mind I have a patent hatred of all things related to banks, building societies, accountants, solicitors etc but must say they have been very good. One noteably dangler up was when they inadvertantly bounced a cheque made payable to Her Majs Revenue for 12k the day before the deadline in January. The bank were trying to protect me from fraud, apologied profusely, contacted the Revenue and sorted it out no issues. The only real downside is having to use other ATMs and having no actual branches but all things are doable. We wouldn't have been with them so long if they were crap. # Bob Quote
Captain Colonial Posted October 21, 2011 Author Posted October 21, 2011 Cheers everyone, just awaiting a response from Sh*tander and may still change anyway, but will look at First Direct regardless. Thank you! Quote
hilux Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 The collective noun for bankers is a Wunch A Wunch of Bankers I believe is the correct term. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 Update: They called back late yesterday, reinstated her overdraft for 12 months and paid her £35 compensation. Amazing what you can get when you bark loud enough. But they're still utter tw*ts. Quote
