Bought a quick rack( from Westfield) when i picked up my chassis and modified steering column but the splines appear to be different sizes i.e smaller on the new rack than the old sierra one anyone else come across this? Westfield say it should fit! The steering column should fit snugly onto the spline and the securing bolt should secure it finally in the recess on the spline,is this correct?

Mark ???

yep, your right, it should fit, are you sure its the right rack and lower column, the quick rack should be a mk2 escort one, best measure it up, and either send them both back if they dont fit, they should fit tho as its a std size.

Oh when you fit the upper column, make sure you fit the alloy spacer between the lower bracket mounting (2 M8 bolts)as it goes through the bulkhead (which you need to drill out for the columb)and the column, thus lowering the rack down as the axcess tray wont fit otherwise.......... :t-up:  :)

Best of luck with the rack...........

there was an alloy spacer in a box, what wasn't marked up it 2 1/2" long ish 1 1/2" wide and 1/2" thick with two holes what fit under the bracket on the chassis and the lower steering column bracket. thus lowering the upper column.
