Recommended Posts

Right, i've done the search till i'm blue in the face .....

Whats the correct clutch cable for the top mounted peddle box going to a type C ford gearbox (which should be identical to a type N / 9 for the clutch).

Cheers,

Mike

You need the part number 'cos, without it, you'd have to buy a large brimmed hat, a false beard, and shades. How else could you go in to a parts shop and ask for a bit for a 1982 Crapi 1.6?

Found my receipt.

I got mine from Allparts Automotive, and part no. is BB11057C and was just under a tenner.

Hope this helps  :t-up:  :t-up:

Well i've done a little research (and got an answer out of the search as well - yep, i'm off to buy a lottery ticket :)).

It seems ....

"westfield apparently stock two types of cable, westfield part nos 4922021 & 4922023. These equate to Quentin Hazell part nos 1062 & 1057"

After doing some cross referencing on the Quinton Hazell Automotive web site (www.qha.com) that ....

Part 1062 is from a Mk2 escort (75-80) LHD 1.1, 1.3, 1.6 (OHV) or a RHD mk2 mexico (76-78) or RS2000 (77 - 80).

Part 1057 is from a Mk2 (74-78) or Mk3 (78-87) Capri 1.6 (Excluding GT)

Halfords will do the 1057 part for about 7 pounds (well its less than 7 pounds but i can't remember the exact 6 pound something price) and can get the part during the week within an hour. Now Halfords will get the part in and take it back if it doesn't fit so ... i'm going to get both parts, measure them, fit the right one and post the details of both on here for posterity.
