Bob Green Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Wasted talent Yes, I am sure but quite frankly, I never had time for her. To lift a quote from the BBC news: "The troubled singer had a long battle with drink and drugs which overshadowed her recent musical career. She pulled out of a comeback tour last month. Last month, the north Londoner pulled out of the European tour after she was jeered at the first gig in Serbia for appearing too drunk to perform. For 90 minutes, she mumbled through parts of songs and at times left the stage - leaving her band to fill in." Is that talent? I don't think so. Such a bad influence on younger folk. Quote
perksy Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Afraid it was never going to have a happy ending Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Deepest of sympathies for her family, but somehow find the coverage of something almost inevitable rather troubling as it shifts the horrifying news of over 90 innocent people, some young students, swimming for there ****** lives, killed in the Oslo bombing/shooting down to almost an also ran story. fastcarl Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 As a father of three girls i sincerely hope none of them turn out like this waste of space, my condolences do go out to the family . carl Quote
Rusty Nuts Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Sad loss really some of her music even an old fogey like me liked, nobody wants to be on drugs and nobody wants to see thier dear ones in the state drugs can put people into or loose them at such a young age. Condolences to all her near and dear. Quote
RedditchJay Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 sad indeed BUT was a time bomb waiting to happen Quote
jeff oakley Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 What is sad is that the music industry is rife with pushers who feed on these insecure people. Those inside must know who got her hooked, who fed her habit which has now sadly led to her death. I really feel for her father who tried to help but how ironic her song they tried to make me go to rehab is one she will be remembered for. It is true that she will get more sympathy from some rather than the Norway atrrocites. Quote
SteveD Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 sad thing is her father does not know yet he is in a plane over america Quote
echoz Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Deepest of sympathies for her family, but somehow find the coverage of something almost inevitable rather troubling as it shifts the horrifying news of over 90 innocent people, some young students, swimming for there ****** lives, killed in the Oslo bombing/shooting down to almost an also ran story. my sentiments exactly, no sympathy for teh smack rat to be honest, you make ya own bed etc etc .... Martin Keene Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Sorry, call me a heartless bar steward if you like, but why is this news? Thousands of alcoholic junkies die every year, why does this one suddenly deserve to become front page news in front of the horrific goings on in Norway and the corruption that appears to be rife between the media, police and politicians in the UK. Quote
echoz Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 martin, this is teh sad reality of life, people care more bout some junkie than real news :| Quote
Captain Colonial Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 The very definition of inevitable. Amazed it took so long. But the destruction of far more talent, youth, hope and future in Oslo is far more tragic. Can't say I'll miss her, but I feel for those who have to live with the mess she left behind. Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Just hope no one on here has anybody in their family who gets hooked on drugs. It can happen to any family at any time. My other half works with people recovering from this sort of problem amongst other issues. It is a worry having two kids of 15 and 18 these days even intelligent ones like ours. I take nothing for granted. Deepest sympathy to the family. Quote
oldman Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 k****l!It always seems to me that talent, imagination,or high intelligence comes with a hefty price tag Quote
