Never seen the car. But at the end of the day something in this case a car is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. End of really.

The company in question is still going so presumably they must have customers. You don't sound like your going to be one of them. But so what !

2 nd can of popcorn please Scott :D

CAN of popcorn ???:D i wanna go to your cinema mr Algar :p

If this keeps up, I'm going to start selling beer as well as popcorn, then put extra salt on the popcorn to increase beer sales!

I think an un named person should just put their spade back in the shed before the hole gets any bigger!

Nick has got the right idea, a car is worth only what someone will pay. But I have a wider problem with this thread, when has it become wrong for a company to make a profit?

We never see a thread saying Jeffc is a robbing git because he buy's and sells cars for a profit, nice as Jeff is he isn't a charity, so why the flack here? If they have priced it wrong it will not sell end of.

I despair when I see time after time club members devaluing the cars we drive by coming on and saying they are over priced. the last time was when Westfield were advertising the latest demonstrator for over £20k. I have never seen Caterham owners saying the same about any of the cars for sale that they have.

As for Adams comment about race team memebers building cars, I for one would rather have someone who knows a bit about cars build one than those with no knowledge, road set up is subjective anyway and can be altered to suit the person whose car it is. I have been in road cars so stiff my teeth fall out on the road, on track they are sublime and visa versa.

One of the things we still have is choice on what we drive, how much we spend on it, it is wrong for others to decide for us all.

Absolutely Correct!

As far as I can see, Adam did originally have a point, in that a blanket statement that a car is built by a race team won't necessarily mean it will be the perfect car.

Perhaps he didn't quite express that in the way that he intended....  :D

Since then we've all jumped all over him as he dug himself into a bunker with his blinkers strapped on, earplugs in shouting "lalala...I can't hear you..."  :p

If you have an inclination to criticise any car for sale you can find an angle to criticise any car in existence without much effort..

Finding the perfect compromise for you personally is all about deciding where and how you want to compromise.

The huge variation in Westies from x-flows , to xe's to duratecs, to Honda's, to zetecs, to v8s, to bike engines etc is graphic evidence that none of us agree on the perfect car.

The obvious general criticism of the car advertised, (given the length of time it's been on sale), is that it is rather overpriced for the specification, (which was the original poster's point goodness me!) and the advert appears to have a fantasy element to it in terms of the power the car makes (although no specific figures are given are they?)

Surely the point that we're all striving to miss is that a Westfield is one of the easiest cars on the market to build and customise to suit your own particular notions of automotive perfection.....

Vive la difference as those snail eating blokes say.... :t-up:  :t-up:  :D

Racing team building a road car, rarely works :)

I think that's the comment that people have taken a 'dislike' to (There is no Justification to it) and nothing really to do with the original car for sale.

b****r all details in the ad so it may be pricey it may not.  Been for sale for donkeys so if someone likes it there must be a deal to be made.

Are they TBs or carbs?

Their website says it a 4ltr so it can be that 'hot' unless it's a high revver mechanical cam thing.

Needs more details, otherwise someone looking for a 'road' V8 would be daft to buy that over something like studbuckles car in the for sale section - which is a steal at £11k.

you guys don't need much of an excuse to stick the boot into Adam do you!

It is a fairly throw away comment I must admit but there is no need for this  :(

I would defo agree there Cleggy, I think not only has Adam been a bit hard done by over a throw away opinion, he's handled it quite well and taken it on the chin.

Not that it's done my popcorn sales figures any harm, mind you...

Can we all just agree that most of us think the car appears overpriced for what it is, has been on the market for far too long, and that pedigree doesn't necessarily guarantee results, and move the f**k on please?  Let's pick on something else we can all agree on... like Americans.
