Dibby Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 If there was ever a sport/ leisure/ passtime that's up its own A***, then this has gotta be it Dress code??? goodness me Well said Mr B........... Now i don't mind golf as a game (even got a set of bats myself!) but the bulls*** around the game is pathetic... My mate used to own/run a golf club and he said the "members" were like a bunch of spoilt children! Exactly. If other people are that worried about what socks you're wearing you're probably better off out of it, go to the pub with your mates instead ... unless that's your kind of scene, worrying about what socks other people are wearing Quote
echoz Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Please let us know how it goes jeff any takers on 3 - 1 odds he doesnt make it past the 5th hole before he gets the sack? ahah Quote
Bananaman Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Last time i played golf my mate organised a group thing, think there were 24 of us in total... we all had buggies and it sounded like a load of milk floats setting off we had that much booze onboard! Top day out, he booked us in as the “Jodrell Bank Society” which is nothing to do with the Cheshire Landmark but much more to do with our level of golf...... Biggest laugh was my cousin nearly rolling his buggy right in front of the clubhouse balcony, he was in the last group out so balcony was packed.... Don't think 1/2 bottle of vodka helped!!! P.S. Can you get done for DD in a Glof Buggy? Quote
Dibby Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 First and last time I had a go I realised I can throw a golf ball much further than I can hit it. Not a natural born golfist Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I am astounded that there is a 'dress-code'! I often cross a fairway on a public footpath alongside the Thames near Cookham, and the outfits worn seem to be predicated upon looking as daft as possible. Perhaps the county 'Berks' is near the mark? Try this style:- Quote

funbobby Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Whatever you end up wearing stick a post on here so SwissJeff can see it. He will cast his critical eye ;-) Golf is like making love to a beautiful woman, you skirt around the edges for while before going for the hole. Quote

lippydave Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Golf is like making love to a beautiful women, you start by going long on the tees, you may indulge in a spot of rough or enter a bunker along the way, but you always finish off on the manicured hole...... Quote

JeffC Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 Please let us know how it goes jeff any takers on 3 - 1 odds he doesnt make it past the 5th hole before he gets the sack? ahah well I actually enjoyed that, played in a 4 ball best 2 scores count, I actually helped on a few of the holes but Jezuz did i make a mess of some of the others lost 4 balls and found 2 nearest to the pin won a prize and a hole in one would win a new bentley, I came away winning nowt , apparently a couple of years ago someone won the car, I put myself under pressure and shanked the ball 20 yards to the right Quote
Pilot Pete Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Really cant picture you on a golf course..... Are you as good with a golf stick as a gear stick, hence needing a large handicap! Quote
