No offence taken SteveD.  :t-up:

Prom is now as prominent in the UK as much as it has been for years in the USA. And to be honest I welcome it with open arms. The kids / young adults will remember the day and so will I, for years to come!

As far as I am concerned it's important to enjoy life to the full and if a helicopter, ice cream van, limo or elephant is available at a reasonable cost and it makes my girl smile I don't care what everyone else thinks

In two years time after Yaz ( the daughter) finishes college she is talking of going out to the states to study and work. I think if that happens I won't see a lot of her . Some of you know me very well and know that my " little " girl and I are very close. So seeing her enjoy life now makes me very happy!

And as for the spoilt comment .... She is the most grounded 16 year old I know and works very very blooming hard to get everything she has and I am a stupidly proud Dad. The comment did grind a little but I chose to ignore it's potential upset! Stephen does know both Yaz and myself and as a good friend I thankyou for your comments  ;)

Let's let that lye there ? And return to thinking of imanigitave ways to get the well dressed prom attendees to their destination with massive smiles!

Parachute?  That would be a good entrance!

Camels?

Dog sled?  (Maybe not... no snow)

Seriously, how close would the copter be able to land to the venue?  Not impressive if no one else can see it.

Dog sledge ...good call we already have the huskies

A helicopter can get in quite close, they have a landing area next to the car park and I have landing permission .... Mind as my mate is the hotel manager that was never an issue lol

He might object more to an Elephant though as they are known to leave piles of steaming smelly stuff

As for a parachute .... We could just get away with chucking her out the plane door .... The dress she has would double up as a chute pmsl

That's a a real shame Stu..........

I'll put the thinking cap on mate, u've got a bit of time ?

My mate went through the same thing with his little Girl, she ended up turning up at the Royal Hotel in Ashby in Guess.................

A Fire Engine !!!!!!!!!

What a laugh that was, and belive it or not, turned more heads that night, than the very very boring Streched Limo thing.

Hi Stu, If you do get a Heli, just be careful that the pilot and Heli have the correct insurance! Just dropping into a school fileld may casuse a lot of problems as it comes under public transport as its the old "hire and reward" probelm. I know a lot of commercial heli company and pilots and am happy to have a word with a couple of them but not too sure that I know any in that area. Drop me a PM if you still intersted.

Prices vary a lot, depemdant on type of machine and and can vary from £650 per hour for a 206 Jetranger to £1200 per hour for a AS355 twin Squirell.

I personally wouldn't use an Robinson R22 (ever!) or R44(Unless with a very good Comercial pilot), but thats just my personel opinion.
