amdaudi
I was stood in some traffic today and even though my fan was on the car wouldn't keep cool. Eventually I had to turn off the engine until the traffic lights had turned green. I did not let it get into the red, but am quite confident it would have just kept climbing. I have only got a 15" fan, is this big enough for a VX? The head gasket is fine and I don't belive there is any air in the system.
Blatman
Do a search. Vx plumbing and cooling has been covered extensively, with diagrams and pictures.......
stu999
...but do try the simple stuff first. Is the thermostat opening? Is the radiator hot all over, i.e no cool spots? (sign of an internal blockage). Is the guage accurate? If the answer is yes to all of the above, then you probably have a more in-depth problem, as Blatters says, time to search..... HTH Stu. amdaudi
After reading through all your suggestions in the past, and looking at the SBD website. I am convinced it is due to my heater outlet being connected too close to the expansion tank Outlet. I will re-pipe it over the next couple of days.(girlfriend off so can't spend too much time on it at once!
