Andy Banks Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Of course there is this list on PH and others I'm sure... There was also a website that showed really chavvy numbers where the letters and numbers were totally mangled to make them spell a word and that word was not even remotely amusing or appropriate for the vehicle (heads off to search...) davidgh Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 In the Midlands there is a VW distributorship (I could give the address, but I won't) owned by a chap called Terry. Terry spends a lot of time in Spain and likes the "El Tel" moniker -- so he got himself the number plate E1 TEL for his large German car. All good so far -- but unfortunately Terry didn't do quite enough research. Spain has an awful lot of German visitors, and they will read the word "eitel" to indicate (with wonderful irony) that Tel wants the world to know that he is "vain" or "conceited" Quote
