How to wire in a push-button starter?

Don't lose sleep over it but at a convenient time, preferably before any moisture can get to the area where you have used the Scotch blocks, undo the steering shaft and drop the column down and remove it. You will now have access to the back of the ignition switch where you will see the OEM wires have been soldered onto heavy duty solder pads. Using a reasonably high power soldering iron ( or better, a gun as these produce alsmost instant heat ) solder the extra cables onto the relevant pads being careful to hold the original wires in place. You should 'tin' the new wires first ( i.e. after removing the plastic sheath, twist them into a tight twist and apply fresh solder to them ensuring that the solder goes all around the wire ).
