zvezdochka
Have just spent 4 hours fitting pillars and screen, having followed manual dimensions, eventually got the screen to chassis dimension right and fekt very pleased. Having invited wife to view hadndiwork she immediately asked why the distance from the top of the pillars to the shiny thing (press stud) is not the same on both sides. Measured and gap on nearside is about 10 mm less. ie screen is sitting lower. Both ends of screen are resting on scuttle, with predicted gap between. Dimensions to base of pilars is as within 2 or 3 mm of manual. This was difficult to measure as leading lower corner of pillar was rounded and different side to side. Should I try to correct this height difference? or is it normal? Thanks Rick
David_East
Check with Westfield. When this happened to us the Windscreen had been manufactured with the press studs on the WRONG side of the windscreen (ie. on what should be the inside)
Liam
Ah! That might explain my problem which is similar. I also found it impossible to fit the fillet without chopping the ends off - there was no way I could fit so that only the indents would sit neatly behind the pillars - the whole thing was just too wide. I thought I might have a narrow bodied screen at one time but this doesn't appear to be the case. there is also a large gap (bigger towards the o/s) between the base of the screen and the scuttle. Guest
I too had 'issues' fitting my fillet. Ended up trimming both ends (a lot! ) and re-shaping the bottom so it followed the lines of the scuttle properly. Even after all this, I still had a gap between the windscreen & the top of the fillet on the nearside because it seems as though it had been cut wrongly at the factory ....or maybe I'm just at bodywork - Dan
