Brucester70 Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 Its the orange one that you advertised for someone on here. Quote
Paul STi 5 Posted February 20, 2003 Author Posted February 20, 2003 whats the difference between sew and seiw???. It has a type 9 box and mk2 escort diff,i will be changing it to an lsd,it must go sideways. The engine is satndard now,it did have different cams in it. Quote
wrightster Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 The "i" is for independant rear suspension i will let bananaman explain anything more technical than that Quote
Paul STi 5 Posted February 20, 2003 Author Posted February 20, 2003 I'll be back on this in an hour or so,please keep it comming. I'll let brucester answer stuff and keep an eye on this post for me. Cheers guys Quote
adhawkins Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 Personally, I'd say it was a bargain at the price he's asking for. But I don't know much. I just know that I paid more for mine (although it is an SEiW) and it's a 1997 model! I'm sure someone will be along to correct me any minute. Andy Quote
Brucester70 Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 I paid a lot more for my 97 VX SEIW, just look at Terry Nightingales site to get a feel for prices. Quote
wrightster Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 Brucester, did u get yours from Terry Nightingales ? the cars he has always look nice just a little bit out of my price range although he has got a cheaper one in at the mo but dont fancy it .. Quote
adhawkins Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 I also thought that Terry Nightingale's cars seemed to be more than I wanted to pay. I was looking to pay 8-9k, and all of his were over 10k when I was looking. That's not to say they're not worth it of course, just that they were a little out of my league Andy Quote
Brucester70 Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 I did get mine from Terry and it was a 1997 SEIW VX 2litre, it was in lovely condition and although built by an engineer, was re-sold through Westfield, so can't have been too bad. Also felt more comfortable getting it from there than private as I would have some come back with him. Mine came in at just a shade over 10k. Quote
adhawkins Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 It's nearly 4pm. Has he started dismantling it yet? Oh, and Paul, it'll go sideways without an LSD, trust me! Andy Quote
Brucester70 Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 I will give Paul a ring to see what he is doing about it and let you know Quote
brianm Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 At the price quoted it does seem an absolute bargain, but SEW---SEIW you takes your choice, nuff said. Yeah i went in some crap red vx 16v one, right old dog it was. Its only as fast as my golf!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Either duff car, duff driver or get back to max power Quote
Brucester70 Posted February 22, 2003 Posted February 22, 2003 He was joking bout the VX dog! We had a dual carriage way blat (max power style I know) and my 171bhp westy was ready to go past his tweaked 1.8T mk4 Golf 220bhp, but he wouldn't pull over. Pure acceleration and twisties the westy is king, not designed for 60-100+ straight line racing Quote
