adamnreeves Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Barry the silver Sagaris with Topcat LS7 conversion did an 11.8 and 127 when I saw it. This was mid morning. I think he was hoping to improve on that slightly. It was me and my brother with the duratec cars (red and orange in the photos) The orange car is supercharged and 360bhp. Wow, knew there was something special under there when I heard it whoosh down the track. It sounded lovely. Quote
adamnreeves Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Tidy install. So what's your running weight? Quote
XTR2Turbo Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I think it was corner weighted at 565 kgs. With a good launch he should be running mid to low 11's really but not the right tyres and a few probs with the clutch. Quote

You know I am a newbie at this but if I got a 12.3 with 281BHP and 825Kgs with newbie launching and incorrect tyre pressures then 360BHP and 565kgs should be much quicker? Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 You would think wouldn't you. That said traction on road tyres is going to be a limiting factor in this. The best I have managed is 12.2 seconds and 125mph with 480 bhp per ton. The pod may have more grip off the line and Chivenor sprint that my launches have been timed at. I was there this weekend and the best I could manage was 12.7 at 120mph. I had wheel spint right through the first 2 gears up to 80mph and could not get the power down at all. Quote

My brother could not apply full throttle until in 3rd gear. Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Out of interest there was a Gould with an Ex Benetton F1 and that was doing 145MPH and 9.9 standing 1/4's Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Is the track just shiny or was it damp? Quote
XTR2Turbo Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Just shiny. The weekend before was the European finals and so they spray the track with 'glue' Improved the grip for soft rubber but not sure whether it helps or hinders with road tyres. Quote

Shush, it was really wet, would have done a lot better if it wasn't. Quote
XTR2Turbo Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Edited to add, there was a quick shower every time Adam staged, soon passed though ... Quote
