I am back! Decided not to do that infamous last run! Best time is along the lines of what I was expecting not having done this before. 1/4 mile in 12.3 and past line at 118mph.

Here's the clincher I had 30kgs of fuel in the tank and as I was going on my own had to take my tools and top-up fluids and these came in at 11kgs.

Being a newbie I left my tyres pressure at 24psi! I know I lost time due to not being able to get the power down as good as I would have done. Once all the noise was over at the launch it really bit down into the track.

Oh and on the way back I also noticed that I have more free play at the bottom of my throttle, so cable has stretched, wonder if that happened before or after my final best run!

My first three runs were in the early 13s. After this I lost my mechanical sympathy and red lined all the way.

I am more pleased that the car survived though  :D

I didn't get his time, but it was about half mine.  He'd finished and was on his way back to the paddock long before I finsihed my run    :bangshead:

He has quite a bit of kit with that Dax. There arn't to many Westfields that could live with it.

Nice to meet you Adam. Your car looked absolutely immaculate, especially next to mine having not been washed after a week around Europe.

Nice to see another Westy also - we spoke but sorry I didn't catch your name.

My best time was  12.2s at 110.6 mph My best 60ft was 1.94s

My brother's best time was 11.8s at 122mph and a best 60ft of 2.14 I think he could have gone quicker but the clutch was smelling and he didn't want to risk an aggressive launch.

I'll upload a few pictures.

Yeah, I am terrible with names, remembering them and giving them out :D

Wished I had lowered my tyre pressures now. Even with my best run my 60ft time was 2.49s Still looks like I could get into the 11s should I choose to do this again  :D

Thanks for the photos. I bought three off the official photographer, would have bought more had they not only operated on cash.

Yeah, that ones printed out, in a frame and ready to be hung on the wall!

Incidentally just came out of the garage checking my throttle cable, my TPS sensor is saying it has changed, only achieving 90%. Got it back to 100% but then I thought I better take the air filter off to check that the throttle plate is getting to 100%, erm no way! This I can tell just be looking. So I move the thottle plate by hand to fully open and the TPS read 118%, boy! It seems my proto-type throttle bracketry has bent a little bit. I ought get this made up in steel. Anyway adjusted and re-calibrated the TPS. Now I need to re-tune my fuelling at WOT. Wish I had done all this before.  :bangshead:

Didn't see that. Saw a youtube from the v8 forum but I think that was from another day.

Barry the silver Sagaris with Topcat LS7 conversion did an 11.8 and 127 when I saw it. This was mid morning. I think he was hoping to improve on that slightly.

It was me and my brother with the duratec cars (red and orange in the photos)

The orange car is supercharged and 360bhp.
