Hi all, thank you for the quick replys, all what i wanted to here aswell :D

John,i'm 10 miles east of Lincoln at a place called Wragby.

Nick, thank you for that as that was one of my main concerns.lol.

Liegh,it's a 2ltr zetec i would be looking to get as i have been into fords for a long time now and will still be part of the North Lincolnshire RSOC which i have been a member of for the past 12 years.

Yes i am bored of polishing it,being as it's all painted underneath it's a pain to keep clean.

I have to choose when i take it out,i'll only go out on sunny days and go to a show if it's fair.

If i get caught out in rain it means getting it up on axel stands and having about 7hrs washing and polishing to get it looking right again.

Here's a couple of pics so you can see what i mean

Tiggs, the local meet(Lincolnshire) is less than 10 miles from me and i quite often have a ride down that road as it's a very good driving road :t-up:

I'll try and make the next meet and  have a good look round them, and as you say there might be someone kind enough to take me for a ride

As i said i sort of understand the power to weight ratio thing and 258BPT is not exactly shy is it.

To be honest i'm not bothered about top speed,i'm happier going for a little play round twisty roads.

Iv'e been looking at a few vids on youtube and i'm getting the idea of how quick they are round track, and i got to say, very impressed :t-up:

Again, thank you for your replies, all very helpfull.

Ary

Hi,

Good to see you make the trip down last week.

Is the Lincolnshire meeting still on? ISTR that it no longer happened - have you contacted the A.O.?

No worries M8. You started something with this thread didn't you? I am almost tempted to swap mine for yours!!

That would make an interesting collection - V70, MX5 and Sierra Cosworth.  :D  :D

Put it like that and it's obvious I can't do it. Two cars have alphanumeric names and one would real words - well sort of  :bangshead: so it wouldn't match  :p

Hi all,i think somebody with the powers that be needs to change the details in the local area meet section.

I rang the details on the page(Mick Steer) and it turns out that there hasn't been a meet for 2 1/2 years!

Had a good chat with him though and it turns out his mum and dad live in the same village as me and after further conversation i realised i built there bungalow for them.

He has a Noble now but he did say he would have another Westfield in the future.

I think i'll try and get to the Notts meet next week and have a look around :D

Hi John, email sent to you :)

Will definitely be at the meeting to have a look around :t-up:

As it happens i'm taking the cossy to Norris MotorSports just down the road at Alfrerton on Thursday for a service and set up before i sell it.

So when it's done i'll have a ride over to Matlock and Bakewell for the rest of the day then call in to the meet on the way home.

Now i don't know if anyone would be intrested but if someone will take me out in their Westfield,i'll take them out for a ride in the cossy ;)

Now that the dummies appear to be placed back in the appropriate prams, perhaps I can add my twopenneth.  I guess the gist of the thread strayed from Ary asking a question to are Westfield’s a good road car.

Well, I agree with Nikpro to a great extent as I don’t think Westfield’s are a good road car.  Don’t get me wrong here, I love my Westfield although use it very little in comparison to some folk on here.  I have had my current car for 5 years and not done 3,000 miles yet, clearly not using it enough.  I may sell it in time to come as I fancy renovating an old motorbike, something like a b*****ds Stopped Again.

I travel over 1,000 miles a week during the course of my business and I would only do that in my SAAB 9.3 and definitely not in the Westfield.  By comparing the two in this manner, the Westfield is not a good road car.

When we do go out in the Westfield, it becomes a fun car.  Given I was born 10 years after the Bismarck was sunk, at my age I kind of drive with the traffic and not like a track day hero so 200 miles on a (non long range) tank is normal.

So, I am of the opinion (putting aside using a Westfield for competition), the Westfield is a fantastic fun car but not a good road car.

I thank you.

Seem plenty about at the moment, Ary. Good luck and hope you find something that suits.

And I agree with Bob FWIW
