Wanna bet      :D  :D  ;) I'll also call in reinforcements  :D  :D  Mr Navin, Mr Fisher and Mr Davies  :D  :D  :D      :D

If they are all like SteveD they are merely Vauxhall conference league in the weight stakes compared to my Premiership Status!

Well to be honest I agree with Nikpro that our cars are better on the track than the road. I love driving my car on a track but I actually think Westfields are dangerous on the road - they gather speed too quickly, are difficult to be seen by other traffic, they tramline, are lethal in the wet and you cant breathe / see above 50 without a face mask / helmet / weather gear.

I draw the line at Caterhams being better though

*Sarcasm mode on*

Yep, you're right - f**king lethal as road cars. So bad in fact that it nearly killed me doing well over 2000 miles in 2 weeks in mine, including many near death moments in the Alps.

*Sarcasm mode off*  :devil::devil:  :p  :p  :)  :)

Seriously though, we averaged 180 miles a day, no aches or pains at the end of each day.  :t-up:  :t-up:  Yes they are flawed in many ways, but that's what gives them character.

Sounds like a motorbike :-)

Jeez, some people are real pussies - what's wrong with a little danger?

People used to say the same about British Motorbikes as they sat at the side of the road broken down with oil p*****g from the poorly machined gasket faces.

then common sense hit home and people started buying reliable, better Jap bikes with 'no character'

BMW's Press Release on their new Road Car:

Our new Westfield Road car, it has a dodgy engine map that was completed in 2 hrs so the cold start and enrichments are all over the place and some we don't even bother mapping. The weather gear is useless but doesn't matter because you can't get into our car with it on. If you do manage to contort yourself into the drivers seat the damp cloth held between your legs for wiping the inside of the Windscreen will give you the lovely senstaion of just wetting yourself.

........But most importantly it also comes with some danger; no f****r can see you coming, it's very skittish in the wet and the car steams up so you can't see death approach. It's fine in winter though, most will find the heater inadequate so you just need to remove some panels to let heat in from the engine bay, this has the added benifit of making the car smell like a canoe as the warm aroma of fiberglass fills your cramped cabin.

When the weather gets hot (We do appreciate this is very rare in the UK) you can remove the sidescreens and have fun trying to breath, as you do your sholder check before overtaking you can take great humour in the snot flying down your face as it's forced out from your nostrils by the appauling aerodynamics. It does, however, clear your eyes from the streaming tears so you can now see the oncoming car approaching fast as you move out to overtake.

You don't need to worry about being cold and wet as most modern petrol stations have heaters that you can use on your frequent petrol stops to find that your extremities still exist.

When its time to park up in a local car park we have added an anti-corrosion feature that is both unique and unrivaled - the sump tears off on the speed ramps and leaves fresh engine oil everywhere. Whilst you await recovery - usually takes ages as we have designed the Westfield not to fit on an average recovery truck, you can smile knowingly at the passers by as they don't realise that your car has 'Character'!

We also do a lightweight version that can't cope with the potholed UK roads and is designed to fall apart. This has the added benefit of making the whole car lighter as the front wheel parts from the car in an untimely fashion. If you go for our standard Chassis we have also added a detachable differential that frees itself when it feels like it.

Bet the Chairman of BMW can sit back whilst millions of these new Westfield Clones fly out of the dealers showrooms because they've got Character!

      :D

Good Road Car? - I think not?

P.S. Combatsapph - the LSIS has sold no where near as many vehicles worldwide as the most popular two seater sports car.  ;)

I still maintain they are a fantastic hobby though!

Is any of it untrue?  :p

Seriously though; people that have been visiting this forum for several years will know that I hate people driving like t***s on the public roads.

The Roads are a transport system and selfish danglers who just use them for pleasure by thinking they are driving gods cause huge inconvienience to the rest of us when they quickly run out of talent!

I have always said - if you want to break speed limits do trackdays where there are no speed limits. You will learn far more about your ability (usually inability) than ddriving like a t**t on a public road.

A Westfield does make a superb track toy and offers very good pound for performance in this arena. (As I said previously I think there are better but none of them have the same 'hobby' involvement.)

Since I see public roads as a method of getting from A to B in comfort I think the Westfield is useless. If you want to enjoy the drive from A to B there are far more suitable vehicles IMO.

It is my opinion and I respect others opinions but surely we should make people aware of what they are like to live with from everyones perspective?

I just really struggle to get my head round the fact people only use them as road cars  ???  , They are far more suited to be track only cars.
