JamesD
Hello there... Build manual lists a coopers type oil filter for the 2.0L Zetec, I my local Halfords they only stock their own make and Champion, does anyone know a matching part number for these. DAVE O
The Halfords part number is HOF238 (Renault 4) They seem to have stoped stocking them now though. Try your local motor factors for a - Renault 4 filter with the spring inside. Dave O.
studbuckle
Is this the really shallow one. AndyH bought an 1800 Zetec westy at the weekend and that has a 'really' shallow oil filter
Westfieldman
Crossland 659 Paul.
steppenwolf
On my 1800 Zetec, I used to use a Crosland 659 ( six five nine ) compatible (quite a shallow unit) but I then bought some Valvoline Oil from Raceline and they also supplied a Crosland 573 Compatible filter which is 'full size' and to my surprise it fitted despite the steering column shaft. Several oil changes later, I wanted to buy another filter from Raceline but their manufacturer had stopped making the type that Raceline like but they now recommend a Unipart GFE 166 which should be readily available - this again, however, is a 'full size' ( 9cm ) one so check your clearance first. neo
i know that the long one won't fit on the later Zetec R engine, like ive got the short one is only an inch from the steering shaft as it is,filter screws to block face not alloy housing as well. Kevin Wood
I think the 2 litre engine has a subtle difference in the angle of the oil filter plate, meaning it needs a smaller filter than the 1800. Or maybe it's a Mondeo / Escort difference. Kevin
