pistonbroke Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 England were a complete waste of space not even worthy of comment Quote
Nick PC Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 I am glad I watched the Grand Prix and went out, at least I saw what we are good at and missed the pain. Quote
Norman Verona Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 No excuses but... No partners for a weekend match is one thing, being seperated from your partner for 6 weeks is another. Having played up to 70 games during the season even the fittest would be a bit tired. A manager who will not listen to the players with regard position will not get the best from those players. We can either have the best league in the world or the best national team - not both. Quote
langy Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I'm not a football lover and ended up doing exactly the same as slater and MOTCO, took the car for a spin and watched cleggy machine some aluminium However, one thing that does get my goat is the way people keep onharping on about 1966. I appreciate that it was a significant event, but it was 44 years ago The players have changed and so has the game. We surley must have to appreciate that our current crop of players / managers are not the 1966 team and aren't as good as other countries. I think the only thing footbal does is reignite a bit or English patrioism, which we are generally crap at. However, the tacky flags adorning numerous cars last week (didn't see many this morning ) isn't something I would want to see all year around. Quote
V8grunt Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Where was Crouchy? he has scored in most games even when brought on as a sub! The whole German defence where over 6' and he plays Shrek, and Defoe, He then brings on a Donkey ( Heskey ) in the hope of him getting " A Touch " If he did and passed it to Rooney.... he couldn't pass a turd never mind a football! And now they face the prospect of a £14.000.000 pay out to the manager.... Yet they couldn't find the money to pay for the completion of the School of Excellence at Burton to bring the young players thru! Quote
dombanks Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 its no excuse that they play so many domestic matches, they didnt even perform to 1/4 their potential. for 100K a week they ought to be able to run about for 90 mins, i earn a s**t load less than them and am expected to use my own blood for my experiments so i dont think its too much to ask a bunch of premadonna nancyboys to perform better and get annoyed when they dont. if the players weren't fit why were they there? maybe its the system here thats set up for domestic and not international football and doesnt demand release from the clubs to train etc, maybe its the manager who stuck doggely to a 442 knowing germany was on a 451 so we were outgunned in midfiled by a younger more conifdent team. maybe its the way we brain wash our youngsters to play 2 touch football and have no flair. whatever it is it was a P**s poor performance that showed up a poor side, if we'd had a anything like a challenge in the group we would have been out last week. the only mjor downside to this is now we are out is tesco going to stop selling the beer cheap? Norman Verona Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Dom, I can't agree about the proposal that they should be fit because they earn a squillion quids. I do agree that the clubs not being able to release players more during the season is one reason they don't play like a team. This is waht I meant by QUOTE We can either have the best league in the world or the best national team - not both. Anyway, it's over for another 2 years. We'll pay the manager off with several millions and hire someone esle just to fail in the European cup .... Quote
langy Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 the only mjor downside to this is now we are out is tesco going to stop selling the beer cheap? Note to self........... Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 not one to blame the manager all the time - but Upson was hopeless and way out of his depth and should have been taken off (even though he got a goal) and Rooney was even worse - virtually every time he touched the ball he gave it away the manager should have had the balls to do the right thing and take him off with three crap performance beforehand lets face it the first good team were almost certain to give us a wooping unless things changed - Germany looked in a different class and fair play to them they made us look foolish Quote
Nic Ayre Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 utter s***e,that is all. Don't worry fella.... Apparently there's a good film on later.... "Out of Africa......" I'l get me coat..... A bloke at work had someone from Germany send him an Out of Africa Poster, I will see if I can get a copy and post it for all to see. Gave us all a giggle. Just as well I was watching a good autotest by the seaside yesterday. Quote
Nic Ayre Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Whats the difference between Cinderella and the England football team? Cinderella wanted to get to the ball………… Osama bin Laden has just released a new TV message to prove he is still alive. He said that the England Team performance on Saturday was completely s**t. British intelligence have dismissed the claim, stating that the message could have been recorded anytime in the last 44 years. Robert Green - The only man to leave Africa with out catching anything . In a statement from broadcasting house, all future England games will now be shown on the gay porn channel. It is thought that 11 arsåholes being regularly shafted is too explicit for regular TV. I can't believe we only managed a draw against a s**t team we should easily have beaten......I'm ashamed to call myself Algerian. The England team went to visit an orphanage in South Africa this morning, "its so good to put a smile on the faces of people with no hope, constantly struggling, and facing the impossible" said Jamal Omboto, aged 6. Fifa have released a statement saying the fan didn't break into the dressing room after all, but was let in by Rob Green. What's the difference between Rob Green's spill and BP's spill? - Robert Green has got a cap for his. Fabio Capello was wheeling his shopping trolley across the supermarket car park when he noticed an old lady struggling with her bags of shopping. He stopped and asked, "Can you manage dear?" To which the old lady replied, "No way. You got yourself into this f*****g mess, don't ask me to sort it out..." The FA have launched an inquiry to find out how a fan found his way into the dressing room. And another enquiry into how Emile Heskey found his way into the dressing room. David Blaine is gutted that the record he got for doing F*** all in a box for 42 days has just been beaten by Wayne Rooney Quote

lippydave Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 To ensure a rousing and heartfelt reception when they arrive back in the UK, the England football team will land in Glasgow....... There is no volcanic ash in the clouds from Iceland today, but there are reports that a large shower of s**t is heading our way from South Africa....... Quote
