Club Chairman (Reserve) Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Hopefully this will be my last post as WSCC Chairman and by 6.30 tonight a new encumbent will be in place ......... Paul Edden. I have been involved with the WSCC for over 20 years now from a member to AO to Club Sec and then Club Chairman and I just have to say its been a pleasure and an honour to have worked alongside and with so many good people. It hasn't always been without its downsides and have had to undertake some unpleasant jobs at times but there have been far more positive happier days that outweigh them. The club has changed a lot in the 20+ years thanks to the many hard working committee members that have contributed so much ........... all voluntarily and the spirit amongst members is exceptional ........... if Carlsberg made a club .... this would be it. Just like to take this opportunity to remember some folks no longer with us: Roland Garratt (ex Memb Sec), Carl Fantham (ex Memb Sec) and Allen Parkinson (a gent and a star) and not forgetting some old rogues still around that have helped so much: Jerry Holcroft, Ron Siddle, Mike Smith, Steve Robinson, Dave Kilvert, Neil Willis, Tom Green and of course the current committee team - a top bunch of professional people with the WSCC in their hearts. and a final thanks to "The Family" you know who you are However, the bad news is I'll still be around (I'm not emigrating) and will be attending as many WSCC and Speed Series events as I can, only this time without any stress and to enjoy myself and the WSCC Spirit Thanks Mark Quote
Mark Stanton Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Thank god he's gone I can start taking the pee properly now Quote
Richgm Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Mark, I've know you for a lot of the 20 odd years you've been involved with the club and my words can not do justice to the time and hard work you have put into the club. All I can say is thank you, I believe that the club is forever in your debt. Best wishes Rich Quote
Captain Colonial Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Does this mean will get to see the dark side of Mr M. Stanton in future, firing off snarky posts in the boardroom and sending anonymous cut-and-paste venomous letters in the post? Thank you for all your efforts Mr Chairman, Mr Edden has rather large shoes to fill and I'm sure all we poor plebs and peons wish you both well. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 aw schucks ........ yep it means I can post with my personal opinion Paul has his own shiny brand new set of shoes not an old worn out pair Quote
Stuart Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I don't know you Mark, but I've been around for about 11 years now and I do know you have done a great job. This is a superb club and sincere thanks for steering it - very much appreciated. You should be proud of what you are leaving to your successor. Enjoy your 'retirement' Quote
