cliveboy8 Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 That's more like it cliveboy8 Now get the angle grinder to the springs and get it in the weeds : What model is that? And did you know your rear suspension has callapsed! Mine is a 230E. Needs a bit of work to bring it up to a useable classic. Nice to know someone on here also has taste. Quote
Bobby Breeze Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Lovely looking new motor Kerry. You'll be spoilt for choice as to which one to bring to The Clock! Cheers Dave Quote
samcooke Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 230E - best one imho. Enough power, decent economy, runs forever. Quote
moomin Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 First impressions on driving it is how huge the steering wheel is after the Westy It is a smidge too big. If you want it to handle properly, go and get the Eibach lowering springs fitted (as bonus, you lose the comedy off-roader look) and the geometry setup. Else keep yours eyes on the nearest ditch when pushing on! Oh and turn the DSC off, it does weird stuff. Great all-round usable car though. moomin Quote
Ian Podmore Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Looks good Kerry. Wife had a mk2 - was fantastic, even with the weedy 1.6 engine. The handling was fantastic, but you'll miss all the wind turbulence from the Westie. At least your hair won't get so ruffled now. ducks for cover. Quote
KerryS Posted June 18, 2010 Author Posted June 18, 2010 At least your hair won't get so ruffled now. ducks for cover. I'm of an age when that will become less of a problem methinks Quote
Blatman Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 230E - best one imho. Enough power, decent economy, runs forever. Not for nothing are they known as the worlds favourite taxi-cab. I got in one in the Canaries some years back, showing 970,000 clicks on the odo... Quote
