Taurus
Just bought a new set of wheel studs from Westfield. They sent me 8 of 42mm for the front and 8 of 62mm for the back. I am building an SEW and have an escort rear axle and rebuilt Cortina uprights and hubs. Why are the studs different lengths? I intend to buy a set of wheels from Westfield and they will be the same size front and rear 15". If I have to fit 62mm studs at the back I will have to remove the half shafts again to get them to fit, so the question is do I need them that length or can I fit 42mm studs the same as the front and save myself a lot of hassle? Thanks.
Graham.J
I recently bought a bag of 20 nuts from westfield. In there I found 2 different sizes (lenght) nuts, the tapered bit at the end was the same but the length of the bit where the wheel brace goes on was longer on some of them, all I did was to put one of each long one on each wheel. Don't know if this has been a complete waste of time but hope it helps. All I can suggest is to ring westfield and discuss it with them, I have cortina uprights and an Escort rear and they seemed fine.
