peterrosey
I've got the skull-friendly RAC roll bar fitted to my Megabusa, but I've just bolted it in place, with the bolts running through the fibreglass 'ears' of the the rear bodywork. Is it going to be strong enough like this, or am I better chopping out the fibreglass and solid mounting it? If so, what's the best way to support the rear bodywork, or isn't this necessary? I know welding it is the best solution of all, but I plan on getting a full cage at a later date, so I don't want to do this. Also, where's the best place to get a petty strut fitted? I plan to hillclimb the car in 2003 and want a bit of extra reinforement.
Graham.J
Try Plays-Kool for the petty strut. Could you do me a favor and measure how tall the roll bar is from the rear bulkhead as nobody has replied to my other thread. Cheers Graham
BobM
I certainly left my fibreglass in there, it's only thin, and by the time the bolts are torqued up I can't see it makes any practical difference. I presumed the ears are there for a reason ...
