Richgm Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 The rule appears to me to be clear. If the Safety Car is out on the last lap it will go in before the finish line but the cars will act as if it's still on track (is that a fair interpretation?) A fair interpretation yes. But (as I see it) if that was the case waved yellows should have been displayed. I've looked at the incident again and they were waving green flags so they were back to racing conditions. Quote
FW500 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 What happened to " The best driver "always " wins the world championship " Seem to remember someone making that statement not to long ago , wonder who that was Bernie it certainly wasn't me if that's what you're getting at. I've NEVER said the best driver "always" wins the world championship. I know this because I don't remotely believe that statement. It would mean I beleive Hamilton was the best driver out there in 2008 - trust me I do not believe that! Quote
Captain Colonial Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 FW500: "I don't hold either Hill or Schumacher responsible for the 1994 incident." The prosecution case rests, my Lord. Quote
FW500 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I'm saying neither Schumacher or Hill were 'responsible' it was a racing incident. Both drivers wanted the same bit of the road. I'm just so terribly sorry Damon couldn't make better use of his 40 point leg-up earlier in the season. Quote
echoz Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Lewis still has a d1ckish attitude in interview Brilliant drive from Webber Another solid drive from Kubica Schui move was good whether it was legal or not Must it always diminish into school girl playground arguement?! Chill pills for all on Sundays F1 days! Quote
Lurksalot Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Maybe Alonso should have slowed down, forcing the overtake before the safety car line, could have landed the cobbler a bit deeper in it Quote
Norman Verona Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 QUOTE The rules USED to read after a safety car pulls in there is no overtaking until after crossing the start/finish line, had that rule still been in force this "problem" would not have happened, classic case of if it wasn't broken why mend it. I think that rule is still in the book, except for the overrider about the last lap. Quote
