Matt Seabrook Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Looks legal though but will Mr D. Hill see it that way though Quote
cast iron Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Yep the pace car pulled in before the finish line hence it didnt finish under the pace car, whilst I hate the sausage muncher, he got that one right Quote
peterg Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Pedantic moment - it's a safety car not a pace car Quote
Captain Colonial Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Article 40.13 of the sporting regulations states: "If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking. There may be trouble ahead... Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 Green flags also mean the race is restarted so no longer under safety car. Race on the way I see it. Still we will wait and see. Quote
Tom Frankland (T3OMF) Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Lastest Looks like Hill got his way...... Quote
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Result Result That'll teach him to knock Hill off way back when. Admire his driving, but never liked him. Bet Ferrari and Alonso are delighted Quote
KerryS Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Not a great Ferrari fan or one of Alonso either but I thought that they both did very well today, now he's 3rd in the points without a win. Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 So how is that just. The team told him to race so it a team fault not a driver fault. Still if it had been Lewis or Jenson the boardroom would have been up in arms about it. Still with Hill on the committee he was never going to get an unbiased hearing. Something Hill alluded to at the start of the program Quote
pistonbroke Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 whatever the result , it was a sad way to end what was been a great days racing . Grats to Weber who outclassed the field , a well deserved win , great drive Quote
CedricTheBrave Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 great drive from Weber I agree but the way that redbull is running the rest of the season is going to be a bit repetative Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 so if they only had to drive to the finish line without overtaking why was everyone els (including Alonso) racing for the finish? I'm not a Schumi fan but credit to him for the overtaking move Quote

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 But the sponsors don't want tomorrows newspaper photos of the winners to be obscured by the safety car. (Well OK, Mercedes might ) It was a great cheeky move, that on another lap, would have been legitimate it seems. Revenge a dish best served (ice) cold. Quote
