minghis
I am going to (soon, I hope) buy a Westfield, but need advice - I have seen a car for sale on the official Westfield website, a used red Zetec 2 litre (1996) for the best part of £10k. Being a first - timer and not feeling confident enough to look at a private sale one due to the fact that I won't know what I'm supposed to be checking for, can anyone suggest that this would be a good car to have? Would I be safe in the knowledge that as it would be bought from them it would be value for money and not going to fall apart as soon as I drive it? Any help would be really appreciated. steppenwolf
With any second hand car, you really need to check it out carefully regardless of who you are buying it from. I would have thought it was unlikely that Westfield would sell a duff second hand vehicle but I would not recommend buying a car simply for this reason. This is a specialist car market that you are buying into and therefore you need to approach your purchase in a very considered manner, asking yourself some of the following questions:- 1. what are you going to use the car for - Sunday drives, Track Days, Racing, Commuting? 2. what sort of power/engine type do you want? 3. what body style will suit you best? 4. do you like the colour? If this car meets your criteria then there is no reason why it shouldn't be on your shortlist but especially with a car like this, make sure it is really what YOU want, not just that the purchase appears to be a safe one. Let us know how you get on and remember that there are always going to be existing club members around who will be pleased to assist you in checking a car out before purchase.
