Good luck with sale.

Distance should not be a deal breaker. The chances of finding something like that on your doorstep are extremely limited, given that Westfields are pretty rare as a group, and rarer with that sort of spec and condition.

Hmm, I was going to agree with Blatman and say get on a train, but a quick look on National Rail show it's a 20 hour return journey, most trains require 3 changes and there isn't going to be a lot of change from £500...

May be ping the OP and ask about meeting at the Scottich boarder or something?

Distance shouldn't be an issue surely? I bought my car over the phone from a guy in Exeter - I live up beside Stu! I made myself happy with lots of questions and photos of the car before I did the online banking... I paid to have the car transported up as well - I never even left the door... I know Stu bought the car down south and also got it transported up.

Train? Cheaper and far quicker to fly surely? Eatern / EasyJet / Ryan Air etc all fly into Aberdeen. I'm sure Stu would take the time to pick any interested parties up...

Maybe its just me but I tend to buy very few vehicles local... Current jalopy was bought in N. Ireland, previous bought down in Preston, go-kart bought in Reading, wife's horsebox bought down in Kent etc etc.

When I bought my westie, I knew what I wanted and found one with the correct spec (didn't stop the upgrading tho  :p ). You either want one or you don't - surely distance doesn't matter? Fly up, drive home? If its too long to do it in one go - do it in two days... Make a road trip out of it - plan your return journey well so you get off the boring m'ways and see some of the country?

I can vouch for Stuarts car - I thought mine was a clean example until I seen his. Its pristine, with all the right bits.

Good luck with the sale Stu, real sorry you're letting her go.
