Taurus
Hi, Started to reassemble my escort axle and because it is quite a while ago since dismantling it I could do with a photo or diagram of the brake assembly to help out. ( I know I should have drawn it). Also is there a paper gasket between the diff and the casing, again I cannot remember when dismantling it. Thanks in advance, Peter. Chris Elworthy
Re-post your thread on "Techie Talk" I think it gets more views and someone on there will almost certainly have a MkII Escort Manual that they are willing to photocopy for you (obviously only the relevant page, not all of it) The other option is ring Westfield Tech help - they must have a photocopy of the brake layout. Bob Green
Hi Taurus Anywhere near Ashby-de-la-Zouch. If so I could pop over and help you with the brakes. I never used a gasket on the diff, just Volvo Truck gasket sealer. You will never have a leak.
Taurus
Thanks for the help, I got a gasket from my local Ford dealer £1.67p. I live in darkest West Wales a long way from Ashby de la Zouche but thanks for the offer of help. Reassembled the Axle this morning, everything except for the brakes. Will fit the axle tomorrow and then wait to see if I can get a picture of the brakes. Regards, Peter. PS I will repost in "TECHIE"
