Terry Everall Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Hope you like Howards new gearbox! came from a good car I understand Quote
*Emma* Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Oh, yes! First drive after winter's always entertaining. Green tyres meant the back end was sliding all over the place and then CHONG! into second - dog box is a new experience - and that was just exiting the garage . A few miles to scrub the tyres and get used to the box (it's fine, really) and I was grinning like the proverbial. Howard Quote
Terry Everall Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Anyone know if there is a cafe on site open at night? Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I doubt it Terry. I dont recall there being one adjacent to the Stowe circuit even in the day unless it was a burger van. The new layout may have something in the day now I guess. There is a pub in Silverstone village and Wittlebury golf club next door to the circuit usually have meals available in their bar. They also do camping but this may be only for big events like the GP etc Quote
Paul Morcom Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Not been to the pub in Silverstone village for some years but it used to be very good - good beer, excellent food, and loads of motor racing memorabilia hanging on the walls. Terry - you could always donate some of your leftover parts from your winter development work, or even try swapping them for beer and grub. Quote
Bud Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 The course map in the finals shows a single chicane - lets hope its not the same one as in this vid from the MLR sprint last month - 4 high tyre wall!! not westy or race car friendly at all Apart from that the course looks good and lets hope it stays dry and that I can keep the car on the road this time unlike my first attempt at Castle Combe. Quote
barney Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 the entry regs say 2.2 miles 1.8 laps.... Quote
Terry Everall Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Yes almost 2 laps sounds good but that tyre chicane looks a b****r! God knows how we are supposed to walk the track when you cant get in until 2000hrs Sat ( dark) or after 0700 Sunday with sign on and scutineering from 0730 until 0830 compulsory drivers brief. Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 At least they have left the apex cones out for you Quote
Terry Everall Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 John I need all the assistance I can get Might just give the tyres a nudge maybe. Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 No! You have just polished your wheels Quote
Terry Everall Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 gave up trying to polish them as it was too much like hard work Quote
