Oi you pikey lot, if there is a free westfield going, it's got my name on it. Mine is well over due a smash, so think on this as an insurance policy of sorts

you wouldn't have been saying that if you were there on Tuesday. it took us 2.5 hours to get it onto the trailer, and i had to drag it off the trailer into my garage using my Westfield at 1am - sorry neighbours :(

bang me your e-mail and I show you what you could have won :)

:D Thats a small inconveniance for a free car  :D  :D

If you want to email me some pics I'll host them and post them up for all to see  :t-up:

now we know its going to be a labour of love  love love

they're not as bad as the picture would suggest - most of it is just surface corrosion. First thing is to strip it down and get the chassis blasted and powdercoated..

Sounds like a proper job is on the cards. I did wonder when i saw the wire brush on the scuttle  :)

good luck with this fella - like you say start with the chassis and go from there

why cannot you upload photo's? your gonna struggle to do a buld thread without em  :p  if you need a hand to work out how to do it let me know and will send you my number

first bit though is to register for an account with photobucket (tis free) - it's real easy to get piccies up once you have done it a few times

enjoy she's gonna keep yer real busy by the look of it

oh by the way - when you have your chassis blasted make sure you go look at it before it is powder coated (I made this mistake years ago and had a beautifully powder coated chassis with loads of frickin holes in it   )

ok good shout fella - i've taken the wire brush the worst parts to see if it's rotten (as John's noted) and it's all fine apart from a bit of peeling.

would be gutted if we paid for powdercoating and it was all rotten!! :)

sandblasting has a habit of finding weeker areas - there is a place in birmingham that you can have your chassis dipped

bit more expensive but removes all rust especially if you stick some holes in strategic places to be repaired after

edit: I shall be going for sandblast when I get the spyder done - I always think it makes for a really good key for the paint

cool - well when tom is ready to start on it (my bro is having it not me) i'll start firing away the questions - i rebuilt mine but not to this extent so it will be new to me.

cheers
