bumblepup Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Guys, I have an 1987 Pre-Lit 1700 x-flow Westy sitting in my garden that has the body off but is complete. The car hasn't moved since 2001 so is a total restoration project. My house is being sold this Friday and the wife says if the car isn't gone by Thursday the scrap man will have it. So if there is anyone who wants to give me a drink for it and is able to collect the car before Thursday they can have it. We are in Great Bookham which is about 5 miles from Junction 10 on the M25. I would have posted this in the cars for sale section but was unable to as I am not a member. B... Quote

leighc Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 well, I now have this languishing in my garage (my bro's had it), and although it looks like a bit rough at first inspection, i'm sure it won't be too long before it starts coming together. Would anyone be interested in a cleggy/Windy style rebuild thread? Quote
lippydave Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 well, I now have this languishing in my garage (my bro's had it), and although it looks like a bit rough at first inspection, i'm sure it won't be too long before it starts coming together. Would anyone be interested in a cleggy/Windy style rebuild thread? Yes definitely..... After doing it myself I can vouch for the fact that it's at least 3 times more hassle, and timeconsuming than a new build.... I mean really, anyone with a pocket of folding wonga and a handful of spanners can build a Westie from new parts..... the challenge with an older one for me was to sensibly update on a budget and be really careful to try and ensure that any improvments had real tangible benefits rather than just being eye candy.... In short, yes please... Quote
leighc Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I've got some that I can e-mail across if you want a nosey - from when we were dragging it onto the trailer... Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 We need to see some photos and have a Cleegy/Windy style build thread I was going to do the same but you beat me at it well done. Anyone out there fancy giving me a pre-lit for free Quote
leighc Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 you wouldn't have been saying that if you were there on Tuesday. it took us 2.5 hours to get it onto the trailer, and i had to drag it off the trailer into my garage using my Westfield at 1am - sorry neighbours bang me your e-mail and I show you what you could have won Quote
