Rory's Dad Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 To be honest Adam when all the hassle of building your car "just so" and getting it tested and registered I dont know what you're going to do... Rory's Dad Quote
jak Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Don't depress the guy!! I had SVA on one day, taxed next day Taxing seems to be at the variable whim of the DVLA; rules? What rules? Or even SVA in the morning, register in the afternoon. Driving it by 5pm!! And that included a trip to the factory to collect the certificate of newness and back to DVLA @ Nottingham. Quote

Rory's Dad So true Just getting a little frustrated because I wanted to be on the road in time for Stoneleigh and niavely thought I had enough time. Quote
adamnreeves Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 A little bit closer. VOSA sent back my DVD with all my build photos and receipts on it. A little note enclosed saying that the test station will be calling me shortly to arrange a test date. Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Keep the faith mate, I did here once of a guy desperate to go to stoneleigh but could not get a sva test before so he put the number plate of his other vehicle on it and went.. Quote

Erm, wonder who that could be Stoneleigh just 6 junctions up the motorway from me. I am thinking of trailering it up there. Quote
dombanks Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 all this talk of registering .... i went down to the shrewbury office the week before my sva and did all the paperwork and paid for tax etc. i aimed to get there the dot they opened and was the first one in so i had a good time to get everything done. they were really helpful and i got the registration inspection (check that your local office does it i think not all of them do) arranged for the day of the test about an hour after. they said getting all the paperwork done before was a good idea i think it took just under a week (4 working days not inc sat/sun) to get the tax disc and piece of paper with the reg number proof for the plate makers on it back edt, mine was a sdv build so it might be different for you Quote
adamnreeves Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 Received my appointment from VOSA for the IVA this morning. 30/04/2010. No enough time for Stoneleigh but I'll have some stories to tell I am sure. Quote
