Taurus
Hi, Went to the workshop this morning with the intention of modifying a pair of Cortina uprights to accept cycle wings. Reducing the top fixing from 22mm to 16mm. Didn't do the job because I wasn't sure which was the top fixing. I know that the steering arm points forward, and is not central between top and bottom,is it closer to the top or bottom? You know the saying meassure twice cut once well I don't want to b*****k it up so help please. Peter.
stu999
Its closer to the bottom mate. To comfirm, its the smaller one of the two. And remember, metal removal is from the 'nut' side of the ball joint taper. HTH Stu.

Bob Green
Stu is bang on there. There was somebody a while ago who took the metal from the wrong side ("ball joint" side) and b*******ed the uprights. Don't make the same mistake
