MCB

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm starting to put together a winter project of converting my pinto to a silvertop zetec engine, has anyone got any of the following surplus to requirments?

Exhaust manifold

Megajolt system

cooling systems parts (metal hoses etc)

And a wild shot of a complete 1.8 silvertop zetec engine?? :bangshead:

or Zetec SE Complete kit here  And the exhaust is on the right side and you save weight = win/win  :t-up:

yes it has a clutch, no alternator as its electronic egnition, no starter, water pump is built in, gearbox has been rebuilt, the shaft has been turned to fit zetec engine.

Since when does electronic ignition determine that an alternator isn't needed and why is a different sump needed for weber / TB's ?

And why has the type 9 been machined to fit the engine? It fits anyway!!  :bangshead:

Still looking for parts for my conversion, any zetec parts considered ;)

I have a standard low mileage 2ltr and a high spec 220bhp zetec silvertop for sale if you're interested?

pm me or email me at mbaileywscc-ao@hotmail.co.uk if you're interested.

I will be advertising the high spec engine on here probably tomorrow & it'll be on pistonheads aswell.

I bought the standard engine for a mates mk2 escort but by the time I got it he'd already found another one, the heads are off both engines for inspection btw.

Cheers,

Mark.

Hi MCB,

Ok let me explain Mark B has just contacted me as im very close to making a decision on his engine and in which case I would be replacing a 1.8 series 1 silvertop. Its running perfectly. Would this be of any use. Its running at 155bhp. When would you need it for?? This might help me to make my decision to buy his as would help massively to offset the cost.

Regards

Greg

Hi there, I'm converting to modified 2.0 Zetec so my factory 155bhp (130 cams) 1.8 is going to be available, quite possibly with inlet manifold, 40mm jenveys and suited injectors on it. It runs perfect, done 10k miles and serviced every year (1000 miles). Need to figure out price....Is this of any interest to you?

Adrian.
