Needs a few items sorting out, some mechanical, some cosmetic/external, Is there anyone in the southeast (KENT ETC) you would recommend??? Help much appreciated... peterpeter Posted August 27, 2002 Author Share Posted August 27, 2002 a)the exhaust is blowing just at the joint where the 4 pipes go into one under the stainles steel heat guard. Its actually at the 4 joint junction. The seller reckoned it shouldnt be welded because the exhaust needs to move a little. The vehicle inspector felt it should be welded to improve nse and flow. b)The speedo reads fine upto 55mph after which it hovers around 60 and then starts to go backwards!!! Somewhere in the threads I mentioned I leave the clamp off where the silencer meets the collector box. This stops the front silencer weld from cracking and on my car, a 2 Ltr Pinto, doesn't blow. Secondly, have you an electric speedo? If so the clearance between the sensor and closest prop yoke should not be more than 2mm or else the speedo will read slow and irratic. Before setting up, make sure the Gearbox mounting is in good order as too much movement will allow the prop yoke to clout the sensor. Ive found a local chap who race preps c******ms in Horton Kirby...( near BRANDS HATCH) .. hes a bl**** nice bloke but hes quite busy. Hes sorting some of out minor gripes and doing some upgrades for us in oct. Paulleo/.....
