#### - won't get home in time to see it.

They could have used our XTR on the show - it looks a lot more like something they would build on Blue Peter LOL.

Seriously - glad other XTR owners are showing up.

If you want your car placing in the members gallery on xtr2.net give us a shout.

Ours goes for SVA a week on friday.   Target weight is 425kilos with all the extra lightweight gizmos we've got hope it doesn't weigh 480 after that lot.

I wouldnt get your hopes up  ???

Even the fully lightened Megabusas are heavier than that, with 13inch dymag wheels etc. Cant see yours being lighter than one of those (considering the bodywork, bigger wheels/tyres etc). I think theres been quite a lot of exaggerative marketing.

If you get 450, you should be happy. Specially with all that downforce etc that a megabusa doesnt have.

Cheers,

Ed

Think we should concentrate more on stopping eating burgers/curries and drinking beer than saving 10kg lol.

We're gonna use Westfields weighing methods - we'll be using helium in the tyrs, 1/2 litre fuel, no oil, 1 seat with no runners, fake instruments and a styrofoam cup in place of the engine lol.

We can always hope :D

The weight savings so far are as follows:

wheels that weigh 4.8kg per corner (that was the spec we gave to the frabricator and they said no problems) - they are approx 4kg lighter than westfields image wheels,

lightened and drilled brake disks - 1.1kg per corner lighter than std westi disks

lightweight front 4pot calipers

lightweight wheel studs - 6 of ours weigh the same as a std stud

we have no reverse motor or associated wiring loom - saving approx 13kg

and obvious splashings of carbon fibre (dash and a few other nice secret bits too   )

We also have some very trick race suspension but that won't be on the car before SVA - each strut body weighs just over 1kg

The only down side is the car has to carry my lardy butt  :0 but craig is the pinicle of health :p

Over the winter we have some rather severe changes to make which should save even more weight - oh - and a subtle 33% power increase too :D

We'll post how we get on.

Ian.
