Blatman Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 "To help me with my 996 ambition, can we please start talking down the residuals of Porches on the Porsche forums. What do you think the Porsche owners will say? I'll be upset - Its taken me years to eventually scratch the itch!! Please dont talk the residuals down any more !!! Only owned for 18 months but dread to think whats happened in that time ... Still, its alright where it is at the moment,,,, thankfully Blatters - I can highly recommend the 996. great fun!! I may be PM'ing you in the new year. Fed up of trolling about in a Mondeo diesel. 996 would seem to be a nice addition to my two westfield, two bike garage. The Mondeo can stay as a tow barge / dump run van Quote
Bananaman Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Think the only problem then is how a non-member contacts the seller? Or cant they post in there anyway? If you want people to contact you put your phone number on the ad, that's the way people do it on AutoTrader etc......... Simples....... Quote
ACW Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Also I remind people you can lock your own thread. Why people dont do this when there selling a car I dont know. Quote
Bananaman Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Also I remind people you can lock your own thread. Why people dont do this when there selling a car I dont know. Possible they don't know how? OR Feel that it might predudice a sale (might be better than every nunney wading in with daft comments though ) I just feel that if everybodys ads were frozen apart from the posters comments it'd be a good thing........ Mark Stanton Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 QUOTE Why people dont do this when there selling a car I dont know Possibly because until very recently majority of posters had more respect for their fellow club members rather than be so publicly disrespectful and unprofessional Quote
V 8 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Why people dont do this when there selling a car I dont know Possibly because until very recently majority of posters had more respect for their fellow club members rather than be so publicly disrespectful and unprofessional Well said. Can't say I agree with everyones opinions or replies, but the public abuse some posters have received lately for airing those opinions is nothing short of shameful. Quote
Lurksalot Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Storms and teacups come come to mind but I do think Juansolo has hit the nail on the head pretty accuratley . This site is full of very helpful people who are willing to give time effort and help to anyone who asks all free of charge . I have seen a number of occasions when some on the one hand are quite happy to specify QH part Nos on here so as to help avoid paying Westfiled prices are now appearing to argue that price questioning on second cars is somehow different . I have a number of customers who drive Cateringvans who generally pay the price quoted , I have had the pleasure of qouting a couple of members here , who unfortunately thought the prices are taking the P**s. The whole scenario is based on perception , wether it be quality , service , prices , experience dare I say 'heritage'. and of course "I could buy that from wickes and do it for half the price " While we have a club that as individuals help each other out for nothing , give free advice ( on anything and everything) , help and assistance, enjoy it , so what if some peoples opinions don't match your own. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water !! Quote
Mark Stanton Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 QUOTE Well said. O.K folks if that doesn't demonstrate things nothing can - when me and Tommo can agree on something it must be serious C'mon folks get all those necks wound back in, put the kettle on and have some thought for others stop bickering, stop insulting and get back to having the craic and offering good common-sense advice Quote
SteveD Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 i give in ! can we have a group man hug ho ho ho Quote
Bananaman Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I used to like this site. I still do Quote
samcooke Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 You'd be surprised what you can get a 996 for now Mr Blatman. £10k isn't that far off for an early car if you don't mind a few miles and dings. I looked over a 165,000 mile V plate one for someone last week, he was paying under £13k. Quote
