Crazy Eddie Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 OMG this sounds like a nightmare and I really feel for you / your dad. She has obviously nothing better to do than create a fuss. As has been mentioned I can't see how she could be allowed a key to access your garden - that is a joke. She can always climb through that window I wish you all the best with it - we had a nightmare neighbour once and to be honest we moved and sold the house for student lettings - that keeps her busy now Quote
brianm Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I think it's been said several times already, but all you have to do is provide access at a pre-arranged time for any neccessary maintenance. You can shut it off by what ever means you like, boarded up, gated etc, provided that you can give her access ay reasonable notice, and I don't think that could mean under a week. Do not provide free access by means of a keyed gate Oh, and poison her holyhocks this summer in revenge Quote

Mark (smokey mow) Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Agreed, you can't permamently block up the gap if it is either shared or not wholy in your ownership. However there is also a second point for consideation; the only way in which she can access this piece of land is via your father's driveway and he is entitled to restrict the access over his own land and as such negotiate access for the neighbour should she need to use his driveway to get down the side of her garage for maintenance etc. Quote
brianm Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 As Smokey said earlier fix the "gate" wholly on your side and fastened from your rear garden, no need for you to go on her side then and she needs to ask permission to access the rear, (sorry matron) It seems the 16" of no mans land at the front of the house is no problem??
