JulianE Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 VERY VERY VERY well presented car any possible purchaser would be well advised to have a look as has been well built and looked after, this really is like new!!!!!
RedditchJay Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 WOW Stunning example... and cheap.... should sell fast....
Derby Allen Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Thanks for all the nice comments, The car is now also advertised on Pistonheads, "I can't believe it hasn't sold after one complete day" Steve
Derby Allen Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 Going through the paperwork yesterday I realised the MOT had run out, so the car had a new Ticket today so now comes with a full 12 months, it was also a good excuse to have a last go in her,
Leon B Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Looks like a great deal, nice car. What year was the kit collected from Westfield? Does it have detachable rear wings?
Derby Allen Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 The chassis, frame and wishbones where purchased from Westfield in 1995 and that is as far as the build got, these where stored in a garage under wraps until the build got under way in 2002, "The rear arches are fixed" it could well be the last SE Narrow body completed and SVA'd from new Westfield parts, as regards to selling the car, there has been 3 people who have been very keen but unfortunatley have all been around 6ft 2 tall, all the rest either want a car which is totally different to what i have listed, or want to swap for example a "Classic Japenese Classic Motorcycle" or a Golf Gti, Please could someone come along about 5Ft 8 ish and want the car for what it really is........... I turned away away a 7K offer on Sunday from a local person because i could not cope with the fact of it passing my front door every sunny day,
scott beeland Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I turned away away a 7K offer on Sunday from a local person because i could not cope with the fact of it passing my front door every sunny day, Then do you "really" WANT to sell? 7k is 7k wherever it comes from in this climate
Derby Allen Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 it is a case of needing to sell, not wanting to sell.
Mark Stanton Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Not sure if that's the best comparison to note
RedditchJay Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I purchased my current Westy from a guy 4 doors away..... he built it over 2 years and every day he see's it.......MIND YOU.... I am going to Stoneleigh on the Sunday in it and I have offered it to him and his boy to use on the Monday...... so its not all bad...... ;-)
Morbius Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Yours is as close to a factory 1800 Sport as mine is. webuyanycardotcodotuk off the telly quoted me £8,700 for mine with nearly £9,000 on the clock and 12 months MoT. their original quote was £7,800 before they reviewed it. These are effectively trade-in prices, as they have to sell the car themselves. Either way, you are practically giving yours away at £7,000. and should really be asking about £10,000 on a private sale. Like it or not, in the current climate, you might get more from those capitalist asset stripping b'stards than from a genuine enthusiast strapped for cash. 'twas ever thus
kermit The Frog Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 QUOTE there has been 3 people who have been very keen but unfortunatley have all been around 6ft 2 tall I`m 6,2” and have no problems fitting in my Narrow SE. I really like the fact its a snug fit. In fact I don’t even bother with a harness, but have to remember to copper slip my hips to get me out! No seriously, I’ve had a few Hefty Blokes in the car and never found anyone that hasn’t fit. The only issue I have is the top of the screen is bang on my eye line and my head is slightly above a standard bar, with an aeroscreen and RAC bar, cant see the height being an issue. Good luck with the sale, looks like a cracking car at a VERY reasonable price. P.s Surely you should mention in the description that Narrow Body SE`s are much faster than all other Westfields as their smaller and lighter at the rear! Batten`s down the hatches…..
