Yup. bl**** slow on my Broadband too............ ???

Last time we had a problem though, it wasn't the Boardroom server, it was the ISP, who were suffering packet loss. I reckon there is a fault with the ISP again. On my dial up connection, it's behaving like packet loss, but on broadband, and my "pipe" connection, it's just slooooooooowwwwww. I'd be surprised if it was a bandwidth problem.

severe packet loss would result in us getting page unable to be displayed on this occasion I think it is just plain slow.  More likely to be the server that is hosting the boardroom software is slow.

Someone pop to B&Q and pick up a bag of coal for the server.

Out of interest what is everyones ping on the address:

wscc.co.uk

go to command prompt and type:

ping wscc.co.uk

I am getting 119 ms, though a games server I use I get a 34ms :(

The boardroom runs from wscc.ggr.net if I ping that from my work connection I get:

--- wscc.ggr.net ping statistics ---

47 packets transmitted, 42 received, 10% loss, time 46413ms

rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 39.686/85.088/886.708/139.135 ms

--- www.wscc.co.uk ping statistics ---

49 packets transmitted, 48 received, 2% loss, time 52594ms

rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 49.456/91.933/332.356/69.756 ms

It certainly feels slower than it once was.

Broadband is the way forward, are you not in an area for it?

I'm guessing most of the site is hosted on wscc.ggr.net which (AFAIK) is a different machine to www.wscc.co.uk.

Additionally, if the problem lies with Apache, then ping may not show up problems.

At a wild guess the site is database backended and the problem lies here.

Again, no doubt ACW has the answers, and certainly the tools to enlighten us (don't even think about misreading that last sentence)
