Robin Hoods - as good as a Westfield but cheaper ?

I get the feeling chaps that we may have a Blatchat wind up merchant interloping in our midst
:sheep:    :sheep:  What took you so long chaps ?.

Well, it was good while it lasted.....................

I do feel a bit guilty about the number of serious replies I've had although it has been fun !

No offence intended and I hope none taken.

And I've learnt a few things as well (why stainless is no good, the RH front end to avoid, to name but two).

There was a grain of truth in the origins of this thread -  I have a friend who wants a Robin Hood and I'm doing my damndest to dissuade him, so all the arguments you have put up will come in handy.

Possibly a cateringvan driver with the same initials as Andrew W
Close but no doughnut - cateringvan yes, initials no.

And I really do like Westfields, both cars have things which are bettter than the other. I ended up with a c******m because its what I've always wanted.

So, who's up for posting the reverse of this thread on the robin hood boards  - i.e. 'why should I buy a RH when for a bit more money I can get a decent westfield'

I think some good points have been raised here ....

i went out in a Robin Hood a few weeks back. You'll have just as much fun in it as an R500 and save a lot of money in the process... (what 36 grand ?). At end of day they are all kit cars and all breakdown and blow up at some point... period.

its definitely the way forward

I then told him this was said on a westfield site, and his comments were, "who wants to own a car made out of recycled washing up bottles!". Is that right that westfields are made out of old plastic washing up bottles? If it is I think it's very good they way you all care about the enviroment.

They are. Didn't you see them being made on Blue Peter the other day? Old washing up bottles, sticky back plastic, cable ties and duck tape.

Must have been a well made one then.  :p

 ....err, it might have taken the Essex boys a while to suss you out but, I think you'll find the Oxford contingent were onto you in a nano second. However, as Blatchat has been so magnanimous in it's desire to keep us amused I shall, of course, return the compliment.

Mind you, I would expect Catervaners and the Boyz in the Hood to share a mutual affinity. Both your cars have the much talked about metal body work, both have rudimentary suspension, both have sales teams that don’t seem to give a f*ck, both sets of owners have products that are sold more on looks than performance, both have paid way too much for their cars  and the list goes on. Maybe we should be having a c******m owner v Robin Hood owner debate?

 ….did I mention both clubs have a large gay following?
