Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 I'm not sure what it'll be like with the R1R's, but when I had the R888's on, they were terrible for picking up that fine grit/stones etc you get and flinging it at the following car. Want to get something on there before "run out" season as its a bit more sociable than sandblasting the rest of the convoy! Quote
The Crafty Carpenter Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Well after planning on just enjoying the car and waiting till winter to start tinkering, the tinkering has started early after being unceremonously trailered home by the AA!!, the problem was the distributor so a new one was eventually (3 weeks) sourced and while i was waiting i had a really good look around the car and have now decided to change, rear brake discs, complete suspension, front wishbone bushes top and bottom, both track rod ends, both steering rack boots, upper and lower wishbone joints, thermostat housing, carbs linkage, new foam filter for the 48's, windscreen as it was cracked, rev counter, new rear fog light, powder coat the rocker cover, inlet manifold, the front wishbones, stays for the front arches, most of these jobs i new i had to do when i bought the car but wasn't planning on doing them so soon, hopefully though they will be finished in a few weeks so i can enjoy our forthcoming summer Quote
Lordbenny Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 280mm Momo team steering wheel with Westfield horn badge plus a pair of OMP karting gloves & a new battery. Quote

langy Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Just wish my anchor bay looked as good. Never really thought it looked good. Thanks for the comment Quote
Hammy Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Replaced the windscreen ( thx John) I did have an elaborate wheeze based around an on board urinal for April 1st, but didn't have the time to sort it all. It involved a funnel, tubing and a hole in the floor- not that bad an idea really , saves searching for suitable road side bushes. Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 Decided that maybe it was time to start bringing the old girl up to date a bit, but wanted to retain the period feel at the same time. Went out and found someone who would manufacture me these in carbon fibre, in a nice wide weave so it would be really stand out. Just need to start fitting them this weekend. Not sure where it will all end! So what do you think of my new swept wings? lol good effort Mr C - if only the photoshopping was a bit better Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 Bit of work to the engine bay from this to this with a new ali radiator, some Viper Performance hoses and headers wrapped (ignore the pliers on the cam cover) well £110 lighter I have ordered all the hoses, clips, bung, reducer and joiners to do a similarly neet job on my engine bay - black hoses for me though will post up when all back together Quote
XTR2Turbo Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 latest upgrade small battery. That's impressive. Are they expensive? I think a £500 option on a GT3 Quote
langy Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 well £110 lighter I have ordered all the hoses, clips, bung, reducer and joiners to do a similarly neet job on my engine bay - black hoses for me though will post up when all back together Who did you get them from in the end AP ? Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Who did you get them from in the end AP ? correct - surprising how the £££ tot up as you add things to the list - look out for the surplus hose coming in the wanted section some time soon Quote
langy Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 As I said at the weekend, I have unused blue lengths left over and about a dozen jubilee clips Could do with a garage clearout and raise a few pennies... Quote
