Ninja
Any thoughts on a full screen with a cage? Possible?
tex
can you use a full cage, with aeroscreen? yes it fits no problem - might have to move mirrors and if you have fia kill switch on side of scuttle - i have aero screen and cage - looking at it i would say the full screen might fit - dont know about the height - cant measure it you would possibly need a different mount for the rear view mirror if its on the windscreen

stantman
Not going to disagree with the full roll cage being the safest option, but it is a big statement in respect of how you want your car to look. From a safety point of view have seen an escort van go under a lorry (not nice), The driver was not carried away in a stretcher, but in a bag in two pieces. Have also seen a car that hit a cow and the cars passenger compartment was crushed to top of door level. As to motor bike accidents, luckily only seen the odd one on the side of the road, but the Westfield has got to be safer even with just the pram handle roll bar in place! Westfields would have fared worse (Except the motor bike), but how much worse is there!!! Before anone asks used to travel in excess of 50,000 miles a year for my company, still travel over 25,000 miles a year, and you see a lot when you are on teh roads that much)

I take it you've fitted a full cage in your daily driver as well then? (It offers b****r all protection when hitting an animal as well!) Tim Reid
{Flame suit on} Ok, lots of talk about how poor standard bars are but is this just people's point of view or is there some facts about it? I don't want to upset anyone about bad accidents which might have happened to friends but has anyone actually flattened a standard bar? {Flame suit unzipped but still to hand!}

daveac
one RAC bar? SOLD - to the man at the start of the thread! Note that bar has flat base plates with several bolts (like the RAC bar) and the bar itself failed - presumably thinner than the RAC bar and lacking rear-stays. My aesthetically pleasing chrome roll (non)-bar would just bolted on with two big bolts. Reckon the accident that bent your bar, nikpro, would just sheer the bolts and leave it 200yds from the car! Definitely going to get the factory to swap it for the upgrade. At least it's still wrapped up! Cheers Dave
bedlam age
Is there anyone out there that offers a bolt on 'full cage' as an addition to the RAC bar and if so would that be MSA compiant?
