Its an early type crankshaft (apparently lighter?) which has had a 0.5mm regrind on mains and big ends. ACL duraglide bearings to suit, these are the best bearings for an XE. All work carried out by a top quality local machine shop. Cost me £193 just for the labour and bearings.
